Deuce d. Manual Guzman via pinfall (German Suplex) at 10:33 - Deuce controlled early, but Guzman used his kicks and a camel clutch extensively to make a late surge. After several near falls on both sides, Deuce scored the german suplex in the middle and the win.
Bret Stillman v Alexi Markoff (15:00 Time Limit Draw) - This one was even the whole way. Markoff was excellent with his strikes and joint locks, Stillman with the traditional wrestling. Markoff hit the highlight with a top rope senton, but time ran out before a decision could be reached.
Both men traded cyclone whips early several times. The first signifigant offense came in the form of a rolling sole butt from Merucry, which Bane dodged and landed a flying clothesline. Bane followed up with a slam to the canvas. Mercury jumped right up, but Bane poked him in the eyes, drawing boos from the crowd. Bane slammed Mercury down and attacked his knee with a stretch muffler, trying to erode the power of Mercury's kicks. Mercury reversed Bane into a backslide, which he was out of before one, and then rolled him up in a small package and got the same result. When both men hit their feet, Bane went back to the eyes of Mercury, then feigned innocence to the referee.
Mercury then landed a stuff kick to Bane's torso. Bane sent him to the ropes, but Mercury slid under the attempted back body drop and gave Bane a dragon screw legwhip when he turned around. Bane then threw Mercury into the corner and landed several stinging chops that echoed across the arena, drawing "WHOO"'s from the crowd. Bane locked a bow and arrow on Mercury, but Mercury grabbed the bottom rope and forced the break. Mercury snuck in a low kick when he got up, but Bane was quickly on him again, cyclone whipping him down and going back to the stretch muffler. Bane followed with a high speed dragon screw that had Mercury clutching his knee in pain, then wrapped the stretch muffler on that same knee immediately. Mercury took the fight to Bane with another cyclone whip, followed up with a dragon screw and another backslide. The pin got less than one. Mercury ran right into a northern lights suplex when he stood up, which Bane rolled over into a cross armbreaker! Luckily for Mercury the ropes were nearby. He couldn't use the ropes to avoid Bane long, though. When he regained his feet, Bane kicked him in the guts, lifted him up, and brought him crashing down with the DORY FUNK DROP EXTREME!
Mercury was off-balance and tried to fight back with a forearm shiver, but Bane rolled with it and wrapped Mercury up in the PEPPERMINT TWIST! Mercury kicked and fought his way loose, but only to get another Dory Funk Drop. Bane pressed the advantage with a carry-style back suplex and again applied the stretch muffler to Mercury's hurt knee. Mercury tried for the dragon screw, but Bane lifted him up and delivered a THIRD Dory Funk Drop to him! With Mercury down, Bane grabbed his arm, waved to the crowd, and locked in his finisher, THE SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER!! Mercury was right near the ropes, but Bane used the full five count to inflict pain before he released the hold. Mercury missed a rolling sole butt, his fourth miss of the night, when Bane chopped him across the chest while he was in mid-air. Mercury fell hard to the mat. Sensing the end was near, Bane climbed the turnbuckles and gave Mercury a shooting star press right across the back! Bane slammed Mercury over with a falcon arrow moments later for the win: 1-2-3.
RESULT: Bane d. David Mercury via pinfall (Falcon Arrow) at 10:46
Savage has been on a hot streak lately and Hannibal a cold one. Would that continue tonight? Hannibal arm dragged Savage down, slammed his head into the corner a couple of times, then threw him to the outside. When he returned, Hannibal followed with a flying mare and drilling him with punches in the face. When Savage kicked him off, Hannibal took him back down with a pendulum backbreaker, then followed up with a sleeperhold. Savage elbowed out of the sleeper, only to recieve and inverted atomic drop. Hannibal followed up with a clothesline, then headbutting Savage in the groin! Hannibal then resorted to his old stand-by: biting. Going for the earlobe with his teeth, Hannibal busted Savage open over his eyes before the hold was broken.
Almost three minutes in, Savage hit his first offensive move by slamming Hannibal into the corner. Hannibal immediately cut him off with another backbreaker. He followed up with a second-rope elbow drop, driving the point of his elbow into Savage's lower back. Another backbreaker followed this, then after a few stomps Hannibal locked in the Hannibal-Lock, his reverse figure-four leglock. After Hannibal released the hold, Savage got in his second bit of offense, again taking Hannibal to the corner. Hannibal kicked him in the stomach, then hooked him up for a FRONT FALLING PILEDRIVER! Savage stood up dazed, and Hannibal tackled him to the ground and applied the TENDERIZER!! Punch after punch rained down, and Hannibal was forced to release the hold or get DQ'd. He kicked Savage under the bottom rope to the floor.
Frustrated, Savage grabbed a kendo stick from under the ring before he returned. Hannibal cut him off as he was entering, tackling him down again. But as Savage was setting to defend against the Tenderizer, Hannibal reversed gears and locked in a SHARPSHOOTER! Savage screamed in pain but didn't give up. Maybe that was a wake-up call for Savage, though - when the two returned to their feet, Savage chopped Hannibal on the chest, then sent him to the ropes and back body dropped him. He followed with an cyclone whip, then whipped Hannibal to the ropes and caught him with a flying elbow! Hannibal stood, but as Savage prepared to spin kick him, Hannibal punched him in the back of the head and sent him into the ropes. When he bounced back, Hannibal slammed a knee into his abdomen, sending him flipping to the mat and screaming in agony. Hannibal immediately dropped and re-applied the Hannibal-Lock, to which Savage eventually tapped. A dominant performance from one of the newest Sickos and easily the worst defeat in Savage's EFW carear.
RESULT: Hannibal the Redeemer d. Paul Savage vis submission (Hannibal-Lock) at 6:41
Tyrant went straight after CJ, but CJ kept him off balance. Several contests of strength marked the opening minutes. Tyrant punched and slammed CJ down to the canvas repeatedly. CJ regained his feet and tried to shoulder charge the champion only to have the 250 pound impact shrugged off. CJ respond with a slam that sent Tyrant to the outside. CJ then saluted the crowd, mocking Tyrant, who came back in and slammed CJ's head into the turnbuckle. Tyrant then went for an early grappling lariat, which CJ ducked under. Tyrant grabbed him for a chokeslam next, but CJ knocked his hand away. A moment later, furious, Tyrant grabbed CJ and hoisted him into a press slam! CJ bounced off the mat. Tyrant sent him to the ropes next and hit a jumping clothesline. CJ rolled out of the ring to catch his breath. When he returned, Tyrant immediately went for another grappling lariat, but this time connected!! CJ was sent in a flip and crashed down hard. Tyrant sensed victory and sent CJ to the ropes, grabbing him up in a twisting powerslam when he returned! CJ's foot was under the bottom rope and the pin was broken up.
Not loosing his cool, CJ went back to the bear hug that had worked for him in the tournament. He sent Tyrant into the corner buckles a few times, then slammed him to the mat and landed a falling headbutt. Tyrant quickly tossed him to the outside to prevent him from gaining momentum. Around the 5:00 mark, when CJ returned, Tyrant kicked him in the gut and WILD BOMB WHIPPED him down to the mat!! Tyrant's fans went nuts. The champion stood over his opponent and waved at him to get up. CJ stood and you could see that knocked some of his wind out. Tyrant flung him back to the ropes and landed another flying clothesline, and followed that with a pair of elbow drops. CJ responded back with a body punch rush, then jumped and landed both-knees first on the back of Tyrant's head! It didn't seem to bother the champion, who executed ANOTHER flying clothesline. CJ stood up dazed, and Tyrant crushed him with a WESTERN LARIAT! CJ did another involuntary moonsault to the canvas.
Tyrant waved at his opponent to get up. CJ stood up shaky, and Tyrant elbowed him back down. Then, around 7 minutes in, Tyrant came off the top turnbuckle with a huge FROG SPLASH to CJ's back that shook the ring! CJ was in dire straits, and he knew it. He took the champion down with a flying mare and locked on a boston crab to buy some time. CJ took Tyrant over in a vertical suplex, but couldn't follow up. It cost him big, as Tyrant lifted him onto his shoulder, then choke slammed him off: AMAZE IMPACT on the challenger! CJ stumbled up and tried to back off, but Tyrant was on him like a cheap suit and delievered ANOTHER amaze impact right afterwards!
CJ was out on his feet. But just to put the exclamation point on the match, Tyrant set him for a powerbomb. But instead of the Judgement Bomb, Tyrant lifted him to his shoulder, then ran towards the corner and THREW CJ head and shoulders first into the middle turnbuckle!! This move drew a gasp from the crowd, as CJ crumbled down and didn't move. Tyrant pulled him to his feet and POWERSLAMMED him over for an easy three count. Round one goes to Tyrant.
RESULT: Tyrant d. Captain Justice via pinfall (Twisting Powerslam) at 9:50
CJ was given a brief break to rest. Fifteen seconds into round two, Tyrant grabbed CJ and THROWING GERMAN SUPLEXED him across the ring. Somehow, CJ tried to fight back, using the bear hug and an arm twist. Then he hit a sidewalk slam out of nowhere! CJ's fans cheered him on, but it seriously pissed the champion off. He was up first, hauled CJ to his feet, and after screaming in rage throwing german suplexed him OVER THE TOP to the floor!! No one expected CJ to even beat the count back to the ring... but somehow he did, slipping in at 18! Even Tyrant was suprised, but he went for the academic cover. 1--2----- KICKOUT!! Somehow, CJ kicked out! Tyrant pulled him up and WILD BOMB WHIPPED him back to the canvas. It was over now - 1----2----KICKOUT!! How.. or WHY was CJ still kicking out!? He didn't stand, though, just laying on the mat. Tyrant hit the ropes and running body splashed his prone form - 1---2---3, and that was enough for the decision. No one could question CJ's guts, but no one could question that the champion dominated him either.
