INFERNO The Tacoma Dome Tacoma, WA Thursday, May 7th, 1998 (Fireworks explode and laser lights dance as Inferno ceremoniously opens with the famous MFWL Girls) Tony Calvoni: Welcome, fans, to Tacoma, WA and the Tacoma Dome! This is MFWL INFERNO!!! Barry Zbrosco: Calm down you nitwit! Mike Tenacious: We are coming to you just days after the MFWL's first World Heavyweight Title defense as Destructo succesfully defended the belt against Nomad. BZ: With only one defense, Destructo can go down as the BEST MFWL World Champion to date. TC: I wouldn't go THAT far, Barry, but it was defnitely one for the record books as Destructo literally man-handled the former champ, Nomad. MT: Well, let's not take away from our own Main Event tonight. The World Tag Titles are a heavily contested commodity around these parts, and they will be defended by Sick and Sexy tonight against The Pirates of the Caribbean. TC: Fans...Inferno is about to get underway with our opening match! Dream Master vs. The Extreme Condo Warrior Surprisingly, this watch was not contested under "Condo" Rules, but it didn't matter either way as Condo and Dream Master traded basic holds for nearly the first two minutes of the match. Excitement built as the level of maneuvers increased, yet each man stood his ground, with blows still being dished out evenly by both sides. Nothing let up as Dream Master began to catch a string of offense, only to lose his fire to a run of moves from Condo. By the 7 minute mark, each man had attempted his finishing submission hold twice, but each time the opponent found his way to the ropes. By the 8 minute mark, the match had taken its toll on both combatants, yet each was still kicking out of pinfalls directly after the two count. At the 9 minute mark, something magical happened. An announcement was made that only 1 minute remained in the matchup. The crowd started a heavy chant of "DREAM MASTER", which fired up the man from the Rising Sun. Like a bat out of hell, Dream Master sprung to the occasion. He nailed Condo with not one, not two, but THREE suqential Lights Out DDTs, making a three count on Condo just seconds before the 10 minute time limit. Result: Dream Master by Pinfall at 9:54 Kyle Magnum vs. Easy T The excitment of the opening matchup only belittled the quick, one-sided matchup of this second bout. Steve Anthrax led Magnum to the ring and began mouthing off to Easy T. T responded, but Magnum pulled a sneak attack on him, allowing the opening advantage to go to The Society. The power of Magnum was just too great as Easy T was never really able to come back from Magnum's onslaught. With the exception of a few punches and kicks, Easy T found himself totally on the defensive for the entire match, falling victim to a number of powerful moves by Magnum. Not wanting to drag out the match, Magnum ws ordered by Anthrax to perform the Gravedigger on Easy T, which he did...sending the rapper crashing down in the center of the ring. Three seconds later and the match was over. Kyle Magnum and The Society were victorious. Result: Kyle Magnum by Pinfall at 3:13 421 for Life vs. The Living Dead After the leader of the OCZ was downed early in the previous match, 421 for Life was determined to catch the opening advantage over the zombies, which they were able to do without much trouble. Big Poppa poured it on, starting of with Body Slams and Ax Handle blows on Fleshmonger. Though the zombie kept coming back for more, Poppa was there to dish it out! The problem with The Living Dead, is that they don't make frequent tags. Fleshmonger stayed in for over three opening minutes, trying to sway off continuous attacks from Poppa and Slender. But eventually he made a tag and Parasite entered the ring. This is where things turned around for The Living Dead. Parasite immediately picked Poppa up in the Gift to the Gods, and when Slender came in to make the save, Parasite dropped Poppa and caught Slender in the same move. After throwing Slender to the ground, he sprayed a putrid red mist from his mouth that sent Slender gasping on the floor. The referee did not know what to make of this unusual ability and let the match continue. Poppa was able to take the distrcation to his advantage as he followed up on an offensive run. Unfortuantely for these two teams, neither could get any decisive advantage. The Evil Dead would have taken it if this match had been signed as a No DQ. But most of The Livng Dead's moves toward the end were onsidered illegal, not submission (a lot of biting and choking.) Instead the match went the full ten minute length and each team was robbed of a winner's share of the fight money. Result: A Time Limit Draw (ten minutes) Jigoku Rabbit vs. Lil OC Murray Murray rounded out OC NIGHT at the Tacoma Dome as he met the mysterious Jigoku Rabbit in the squared circle. The little OC managed an impressive, technical, opening display, but Rabbit seemed to be able to shake off whatever Murray was able to dish out. Rabbit quickly feded off the attack, as he literally tried to dismantle Murray. Chokes in the ropes, eye gouging, and many submission holds on Murray's arms and legs. This guy wasn't kidding when he says in interviews that he is looking for body parts! After a few minutes of enduring the pain, Murray sprung back into action, nailing Jigoku with Dropkicks and catching him in Dragon Screw takedowns and Snap Mares. Jigoku's escorts, The Living Dead, still fresh from their previous match, stormed the ring looking to take Murray out for good! But the ref was never forced to call for a DQ bell, because the zombies were too slow to catch Murray! He ducked their clotheslines, nailing each with a dropkick, and sending each zombie over the top rope. In the meantime, Rabbit scouted a sneak attack on Murray. Rabbit bounced off the far ropes and charged Murray with a dropkick of his own. But Murray ducked! Jigoku fell to the ground and Murray immediately wrapped on his 421 W. Legover! Rabbit was taken by surprised and was forced to submit! Murray, left the ring quickly and ran up the aisle after his win, before The Living Dead was able to return to the ring. Result: Lil OC Murray by Submission at 4:11 "The Red Death" Hare Razer vs. Vermin (no Countout, no DQ, no Rope Check, two out of three falls) The second meeting of these two behemoths has been long anticipated! Both wrestlers made their way to the ring in a confident manner, meeting eye-to-eye in the center of the ring. Vermin shoved Hare Razer...Razer shoved Vermin back, and the battle began! And what a display of power! Both men sent each other crashing to the mat with slams, piledrivers, etc. Vermin was able to grab the first fall with his 187 Powerbomb. But the first pinfall loss didn't slow Razer for a second. He came bouncing right back after the loss, and totally took control. Shortly after, The Red Death was able to wrench Vermin in a Death Embrace, which to the crowd's surprise, Vermin submitted to, mostly due to exhaustion and his desire to continue the match. The thrid fall was the most interesting. Again, Hare Razer had the advantage. But this time, the rest of The Sickos joined the fray. With a no DQ rule in effect, The Sickos were able to quadruple-team The Red Death, pummeling him mercilessly. The match was put to a quick end as the rest of The Sickos placed The Red Death in position for another 187 Powerbomb. Bo, Weehawk, and Bane turned to the crowd to hip gyrate, etc. But behind there back, Hare Razer back body dropped Vermin over, escpaing the Powerbomb. Weehawk and Bane were caught from behind by a Razer clothesline, sending each man over the top rope. Still taken by surprise, Bo received a kick in the gut for his trouble and got the raw end of a Red Death piledriver. Vermin made his way to his feet, but was caught by Razer and a massive Avalanche Slam. By know, the fans know full well what the result of this move is --- KNOCKOUT! Vermin lay motionless on the mat. Bo was shaking on the mat and Bane and Weehawk were still laying on the outside. The referee was forced to award the third and final fall to The Red Death, after the most amazing display of power we've seen in the MFWL. Result: Hare Razer by Pinfall, and Knockout at 8:54 MAIN EVENT WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Pirates of The Caribbean (challengers) vs. Sick and Sexy (champions) Even after taking a slight beating at the hands of Hare Razer, Weehawk and Bane were able to pour on the punishment early. Weehawk started the match against Cortez, rocking the Pirate with lethal kicks and punches. After roughing Cortez over for a minute and a half, Bane was tagged in to work on the joints. Over and over, Cortez was brought down to the mat with Bane hanging tightly onto his arm or leg. But Bane was unable to get a quick submission. Cortez was able to break each hold, and finally landed in a Body Slam on Bane before taggin in Cruz. As everyone expected, Cruz ruled from there on in. He made quick work of Bane, forcing a tag to Weehawk. The battle of these two would be remembered for a long time. Cruz pulled out some impressive moves, catching Weehawk in a Tombstone Piledriver and an early Neck Extender, which was broken off by Bane's interference. Weehawk had an equally successfull run, landing in TWO Shooting Presses off the top rope and an equally impressive Running DDT. Soon after, all four combatants were in the ring brawling. The referee did not find it easy containing these four. After a full minute of mayhem, the referee was able to contain Cortez, forcing him into the corner. Sick and Sexy used this time to take advantage of the situation. Bane held Cruz while Weehawk prepared a FIREBALL. But when Weehawk threw the lethal mixture, Cruz ducked and the Fireball caught Bane straight in the face!!! Cruz dropkicked a stunned Weehawk out of the ring, and then wrapped the Neck Extender on Bane. The referee called for a submission, which Bane unfortunately was forced to do! A call for the bell was made, and the ref awarded the match AND THE TITLES to The Pirates, even though Bane was not the legal man from his team - an oversight that everyone except the referee realized. Result: The Pirates of The Caribbean by Submission at 7:23 (yes, they won two straight matches on 6MS to take the titles!) The Pirates snagged the belts from the referee, but moments later a loud BANG shook the arena, followed by a bright flash, blinding all in the ring (and even some fans in the first row) The Navy Seals (with Sgt. Stevie Wonder) lowered themselves from the rafters on rappelling cords and immediately attacked the new tag champs. After giving the Pirates a serious beating. Soon after, Magnum and Anthrax made their way to the ring, but The Seals were not interested in continuing the battle. They instead stole the tag belts and made a hasty retreat through the crowd and out an emergency exit. That's all for now guys. Once again, I had to rush to get this to you tonight. Sorry if any of it was too short for you. -Steve
