INFERNO Thursday, 4/2 The Worcester Centrum Worcester, MA (The Mega Fantasy Girls run toward ringside for there opening dance number as fireworks and cosmetic explosions light up the Worcester Centrum. Half way through the dance number, the lights go out and the video screen activates. A close-up of Destructo is seen.) Destructo: Striker...tonight we meet in the ring once again! This time will be no different than the last. Like all the times before, you won't know what hit you as The Wave of Destruction will rock Worcester and the MFWL!!! And come Hack + Slash, the fans get a triple dose of Destructo, as I will not only take you down, Striker, but annhilate HareRazer and Vermin in the process!!! I will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that DESTRUCTO is the strongest and most vicious in the MFWL. Devastation has sent me ahead to lay the foundation for The Vicious Alliance. Tonight begins my quest. By Hack+Slash, I will have completed his biddings....AAARRRGGGHHH!!! (The video screen goes black and the lighting returns. The Mega Fantasy Girls make their way back to the dressing room, bewildered by the interruption.) Tony Calvoni: Welcome fans to another exciting night of MFWL Inferno action. I'm Tony Calvoni, here with "The Living Legend" Barry Zybrozco, and "The Genius" Mike Tenacious as we kick off the final card before our first Pay Per View at Hack + Slash! Barry Zybrozco: Quite a start, wouldn't you say, Calvoni? I like this Destructo guy. He's no nonsense...to the point. Some of these other guys are big and bad, but this guy runs chills through my spine. I think his threats are for real, both tonight and at Hack + Slash. Mike Tenacious: As I said before, I've done a little digging on Destructo and the rest of The Vicious Alliance. They are truly a force to be reckoned with. Its other members, especially its leader, Devastation, are all great athletes that are hell-bent on creating havoc wherever they go. TC: Well, tonight will be the first time we see The Vicious Alliance in action, as the big man, Destructo, will be in our main event, squaring off against his long time rival, Striker of The Vigilantes. BZ: I like Striker...I'll admit that. He's not so much of a goodie goodie as that idiot Nomad. The man knows how to get dirty and isn't afraid of whether the crowd agrees with his actions. He had a slow start here in the MFWL, but as I recall he has won all his matches for the last three cards - two singles matches and a tag match. It will be interesting to see these two go at it. TC: Well, let's get things started off with our opening match. Dale Winters vs. The Great Panther (highlights) If this match was any indication of what the new light-heavyweight division will be like, then we are all in for some intense action. This match ran for over eight minutes and was packed with excitement. Never a dull moment with these two. Winters came off with the opening offense, keeping Panther on the mat, not allowing the masked one to use his technical manuevers. But it would only be so long before Panther was DRAGON SCREWING and CYCLONE WHIPPING Winters to the mat several times. Panther even made an attempt for THE JAGUAR ROLL CRADLE early in the match, but both competitors found themselves in the ropes. Winters kept his cool, using more of a brawling technique to keep Panther at bay. Winters began to rock Panther with SUPLEXS and BELLY TO BACK SUPLEXS, but Panther found his niche working on Winters arm. This slowed "The Notorious One" down, enabling Panther to catch his breath. Panther was able to get off a DOUBLE ARMED POWER BOMB that kept Winters from moutning a comeback. It was then Panther's plan to go for the three count. He tried unsuccesfully three times. It was on his fourth attempt that the tides turned. While attempting a KAISER BOMB, Winters was able to Frankenstein Panther over for his first cover of the match. Though only a two count, Winters gained the fire he needed. Going on instinct, Dale began resorting to HEADBUTTS and CHOKEHOLDS. When Winters successfully worked a SPINE BOMB, it looked to be over, but Panther kicked out at 2 and 3/4. Panther took the offense soon after, nailing Winters with an INVERTED ATOMIC DROP and the KAISER BOMB for a pin. It was Winters who now narrowly escaped the pin. Panther shot Winters into the ropes, and prepared for a FRANKENSTEINER, but Winters caught him in the air and reversed the hold into a POWERBOMB. But Winters was too tired to convert the move into a cover. The two men made it to their feet, still groggy from their battle. Winters was upright first, catching Panther still doubled over. Dale sinched in a front face lock, lifted Panther for THE OJIMETICO DRIVER, and slammed the masked one head first to the canvas. A quick three count later, and "The Notorious J.O.B" had added one in the win column. Result: Dale Winters via Pinfall at 8' 8" Bane vs. Eradicator (highlights) Though Bane lost his match in the octagon, his fire still burned for this matchup. He took the first offense, keeping Eradicator on the mat with numerous submission holds. This went on for a good minute, but Eradicator was able to mount an offense of his own. Keeping true to his style, Eradicator unleashed vicious punches, kicks, and knees. But an attempt for an early XYLO KICK led to his demise. Bane was able to duck the kick and tackle Eradicator to the mat. Bane quickly applied an ankle hold that had Eradicator screaming in pain. Luckily he was able to grab the ropes to break the hold, but the damage had been done. Eradicator now had a noticeable limp from the hold. He unleashed a series of quick punches on Bane, staggering him enough to allow Eradicator a go-behind. But Bane landed a well timed elbow to the face, sending Eradicator crashing to the canvas. With his victim now in the center of the ring, Bane re-applied the ANKLE HOLD, causing Eradicator to quickly tap out, lest he risk a broken ankle. Result: Bane via submission at 1' 46" (highlights) (Bane had actually Criticalled Eradicator with the ankle hold, but since Eradicator was indeed in the ropes, the hold was broken and the match went on. Eradicator DID have a limp in the game, and 20 secons later, when Bane re- applied the hold, the ref immediately called for the bell.) Nomad vs. Pain (highlights) Nomad's final match before his shot at the World Title would turn out to be his greatest. Pain was never able to get any real offense in this match. A couple of submission holds were applied, but Nomad was able to break them before the ref could make a check. Nomad worked through his arsenal of moves, from SNAPMARES and FIREMAN'S CARRIES, to SUPLEXS and NECKNBREAKERS. From the NORTHERN LIGHTS POWERBOMB to PILEDRIVERS, Nomad time and again kept Pain crashing to the mat. It was if he was out to make a point to Pain's fellow Trio member Nightmare. After practically 4 minutes of pure onslaught, Nomad decided to wrap on the now infamous Danger Zone on the near unconscious Pain for the win. Result: Nomad via submission at 4' 14" (Unfortunately, this was no joke. Keith ran the match and from what he wrote, it was pretty much one-sided the whole time. I didn't want to write a whole synopsis of a one-sided match so I offer this quick recap instead.) Al Lecino vs. El Cosmico (highlights) Another great match, this time pitting the serious brawler vs. the versatile lucha. Lecino began the match, roughing up Cosmico with kicks and punches. Lecino easily BODY SLAMMED Cosmico to the mat, picked him up and then sent him crashing back down to the canvas with a CLOTHESLINE to the back of the head. Again, Cosmico got up off the mat but was sent back down immediately via a PILEDRIVER from Lecino. Lecino had total control, but lost it in a SUPLEX attempt. Cosmico was able to vault over Lecino's shoulder and grabbed a hold of him from behind. The crowd was shocked when El Cosmico lifted the big man and BELLY TO BACK SUPLEXED him over. It was now the lucha's turn to dish out punishment. A TOE HOLD led to a CAMEL CLUTCH. When that didn't work, he tried a SMALL PACKAGE but Lecino kicked out. Cosmico DROPKICKED Lecino on the knee, and the "The Godfather" immediately buckled, falling to the mat. Cosmico began working on the leg, obviously making headway for his finisher, The Great Red Spot. But as Cosmico applied an ANKLE HOLD to work the leg down further, Tony Spinelli appeared at ringside. Spinelli began taunting the crowd and complaining about Cosmico ducking him at the upcoming Pay Per View. This ignited El Cosmico. He released the hold on Lecino, and with Spinelli facing the crowd, El Cosmico absolutely leveled Spinelli with a PLANCHA SUICIDA from the ring to the outside. Spinelli hit hard against the outside railing. Enraged, Cosmico continued his assualt while the referee exited the ring to break the two combatants. Inside the ring, Lecino found it hard to stand with his leg woked over. The ref ordered El Cosmico back into the ring, and then attempted to check on Spinelli, whose forehead had been busted open by the steel railing. Unfortunatley, with the ref's back turned, Lecino reached into his pants and made use of brass knuckles. He laid out Cosmico as the lucha re-entered the ring. Unconscious, El Cosmico was ripe for a cover which Lecino got when the ref returned. Not seeing the foreign object used, the ref made the three count and declared Lecino the winner. Result: Al Lecino via pinfall at 5' 20" Bo Abobo vs. Dream Master (highlights) Reversals galor in this technical matchup. This whole match revolved around each wrestler trying to outdo each other technically. When Bo attempted his suplexs, Dream Master was able to counter. Every headlock Dream Master applied, Bo was able to punch his way out of. It seemed as though neither man would ever truly get an offensive advantage. That was, of course, until Bo bloodied Dream Master with a shot to the face. From there on in, it was all Bo! Suplex after suplex, Bo wore down Dream Master. From GUT-WRENCHES to BLIZZARDS, from BELLY-TO-BELLY to BELLY-TO-BACK, Abobo did it all. A released GERMAN SUPLEX sent Dream Master out of the ring. Abobo made his way to the outside to continue the onslaught, but Dream Master only needed the short breather to mount a comeback. As Bo approached his victim, Dream Master unleashed a THRUST KICK that dazed Abobo. Dream Master used this to his advantage, making a go-behind on Bo and pulling off a BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX of his own. Unlike Bo's previous suplexes, Dream Master's slammed its victim to the hard cement. Dream Master gave a sign to the crowd, who erupted with delight. Dream Master clenched on a front face lock, lifted Bo straight up in the air, and dropped him head first with a LIGHTS OUT POWERBOMB. Again, Bo came crashing down onto the cement. As Bo made it to his feet, Dream Master waited from behind, measuring his opponent. He caught Abobo in the back of the head with another THRUST KICK. This one sent Bo sailing head first into the steel ringpost. A fan tapped Dream Master on the shoulder and pointed to the ref, who was now up to 16 on the outside count. Dream Master looked at the fan and smiled. He rolled under the bottom rope before the 20 count. Bo was easily counted out and after the bell rang, Dream Master's arm was held up in victory. Result: Dream Master by count-out at 5' 52" (Note: Bo really was counted out.) Main Event Striker vs. Destructo (like Keith earlier in the week, I am only doing highlights for this match in an interest of time.) Striker and Destructo traded off move for move from the start. One would do 2 or 3 moves and the other would then do 2 or 3 moves. Destructo would overpower Striker after this though, using his strength to knock Striker down and deliver devestating KNEE DROPS. Striker would then fire back, hitting him with two consecutive BODY SLAMS sending Destructo to the outside. It was there the fight continued. Striker would hit a FRONT SUPLEX DROP, followed by two BACKBREAKERS on the outside!! Striker seemed fired up, seeming to remember just then what Destructo has done to him in the past. He would roll Destructo in first, which ended up to be a mistake. Destructo hit him when he came in and took control back... at least for a few moves. He would continue dominating with a series of moves and a FULL NELSON SLAM, but Striker bounced back to his feet. Destructo continued, suprising Striker with a SIDE SUPLEX from behind and a CHOKE SLAM! Striker again got right up! His arenaline must have been flowing as he hit his DDT! Striker would make a pin but Destructo kicked out! Striker would head to the ropes, only to meet a BIG BOOT to the face. Destructo would take over with A POWERSLAM and pin Striker, but Striker managed to kick out. After two consecutive CHOKE SLAMS, Destructo again went for the cover but again Striker kicked out! Striker let loose a scream to the crowd that sent them into relentless cheers. With Destrcuto winded, Devastation - the leader of The Vicious Alliance - appeared from the dressing room area and ran down to the ring. He jumped up on the ring apron, but Striker was ready for him. The Vigilante reached into his tights, and BLAMM! hit Devastation squarely with a FIREBALL!!! Scorched, Devastation fell from the ring apron to the arena floor, cowering in pain. But Destructo took advantage of the situation. With Striker's back to him, Destructo lifted his opponent up from behind into his Torture Rack Backbreaker finisher, THE IRON MAIDEN. Taken by surprise, Striker was forced to submit. Result: Destructo via submission at 6' 14" Instead of continuing his onslaught, Destructo made his way to his fellow Alliance member, hoisted Devasation over his shoulder, and made his way contently back to the dressing room. (Thanks to all for understand Keith and I's crazy schedule this week. We hope to make Hack + Slash the best card to date. See you all then!!!) -Steve
