(Flames ignite and fireworks explode as the first ever MFWL Thursday Night Inferno kicks off. The inauguration continues with a short dance number by our very own Mega Fantasy Girls.)
Tony Calvoni: Hello everyone, and together with "The Genius" Mike Tenacious, and our own "Living Legend" Barry Zybrozco, we welcome you all to the first ever Thursday Night Inferno! It's been an exciting week in MFWL wrestling so far and tonight, at Inferno, should be no different. First off, what did you think about that World Title Tournament? Could things have been any more action-packed?
Mike Tenacious: Outstanding, Tony! Our great fans of the MFWL couldn't have asked for a better tournament, and a better champion!
Barry Zabrozco: Are you kidding me, Tenacious!!! Nightmare is a tall, skinny wimp. And that pretty boy, Nomad is no better. If you ask me, the MFWL is getting ripped off!
TC: Well, it seems as though you have a point there, Barry. The Sickos gained one up on Nomad and Nightmare this past Rampage.
BZ: And they didn’t even have to cheat to do it. The Sickos beat the two lame-brains fair and square. That tournament was a fluke.
TC: Well, we can go over our outlook on things at another time. For now, let’s get things started off tonight with our opening bout.
"Tough Guy" Tony Spinelli vs. El Cosmico
(highlights)
Pretty straight forward match. Both combatants had their share of offense.
El Cosmico started things off with chops, kicks, and takedowns. Spinelli had a hard time adjusting to El Cosmico’s lucha style. Eventually he was able to overpower El Cosmico with head butts, slams, and clotheslines. But just as Spinelli looked as though he had the advantage, El Cosmico surprised him with a go-behind into a belly to back suplex. Dazed, Spinelli fell into lucha-land once again. El Cosmico fought with a vengeance, looking to wrap up the match early. He dropped a leg drop off the top turnbuckle, and then tried for a small package three straight times, gaining a two count on each. A valiant effort was made to quickly wrap on "The Great Red Spot", but Spinelli kicked El Cosmico head first into the turnbuckle when the luchador was in the middle of the step over toe hold. Dazed, El Cosmico fell victim to a high-angle atomic drop. Hammer blows and more slams followed, but when Spinelli went for the Shallow Grave, he was thwarted by yet another small package. This, again, was only for a two count. Frustrated, El Cosmico backed into the ropes, ready to charge Spinelli, but Al Lecino pulled on the top rope, causing the luchador to fall out of the ring. El Cosmico hit hard, head first onto the arena floor. The ref, being distracted by Spinelli, did not noticed the outside interference. El Cosmico tried desparately to re-enter the ring, but was greeted en-route by the "Tough Guy." One quick Shallow Grave later, and Tony Spinelli had added another victory to the win column.
WINNER: Tony Spinelli via Pinfall at 4:13.
(This match ran close to the way I scripted it, except for Al Lecino’s interference, of course. Offense ran back and forth with each wrestler gaining control for several moves on end.)
"The Notorious J.O.B." Dale Winters vs. Striker
(highlights)
This grudge match gave Dale Winters his first attempt since the tournament to win a match in the MFWL. Striker was also winless going into the match, so both were eagerly anticipating their first win. Winters had a good showing toward the beginning of the match, surprising Striker - who had obviously underestimated Winter’s ability. Winters dominated the match for a solid three minutes, but Striker turned the odds with a punch to Winter’s face. The force of the blow broke Winter’s nose, causing his face to turn a bright crimson. Striker took over from there, laying in power moves which included a few Body Slams, a Back Breaker, and an Atomic Whip. Things were not looking good for Winters, who by now was loosing a lot of blood. Toward the end of the match, Bane and Weehawk arrived at ringside. Bane distracted the referee as Weehawk coaxed Winters to hold Striker for him. Weehawk unveiled his special hammer and measured Striker. But it was "The Notorious J.O.B." who caught the blow as Striker managed to duck Weehawk’s swing. Striker proceeded to clothesline Weehawk over the top rope and out of the ring. Seeing Winters laid out, Striker perched the top turnbuckle and landed a Body Splash off the
top rope for the pin.
WINNER: Striker via Pinfall at 5:12
After the match, Nomad came down to ringside to help clear the area of Bane and Weehawk (who were already making a hasty retreat back to the locker room.) Both Vigilante members awakened Winters and helped him to his feet. While they attended to Winters, two unknown men hopped the ringside fence, each holding the metal chair they were previously sitting on. One of the men was extremely muscular while the other, shorter man, had long purple hair. Both wore red and black trunks with matching face paint. The two entered the ring, sneaking up behind The Vigilantes. Each delivered a solid blow with their chair to the backside of The Vigilantes (the muscular man attacking Striker, and the smaller man attacking Nomad.) With both Vigilantes laid out, the two intruders gave out a sinister laugh, high-fived each other, and exited the ringside area.
HareRazer vs. "The Golden Boy" Andy Douglas
(highlights)
This was the shortest match of the night. I would have liked to have seen it
go longer, as it had some potential. Douglas gained an early advantage. It
seemed as though HareRazer was trying to execute his big moves too early. Douglas was able to capitalize, finding a way out of each of his opponent’s attempts. It was during these escapes that we were able to see what "truly perfect" technical moves looked like. Unfortunately for Douglas, these "perfect" holds did not last long. While attempting a go-behind, HareRazer instinctively fell backward, crushing Douglas in the wake. HareRazer raised from the canvas, picked up Douglas by his throat, and then slammed him back down to the mat. HareRazer proceeded to grab "The Golden Boy" by his legs, hoisted him high into the air, and executed a shattering Reverse Powerbomb that rendered Douglas unconscious. HareRazer left the ring with a grin on his face, never bothering to pin his opponent. Upon the referee’s inspection of Douglas, a signal was given to the timekeeper to ring the bell. Buffy Carmichael was cautious not to enter the ring to help her man until HareRazer was far from the ring area.
WINNER: HareRazer via Knockout at 2:52
Pain vs. Vermin
(highlights)
The match began with Pain running frantic, trying to execute every submission move in the book. He was successful applying each one, but hardly got a reaction out of the behemoth, Vermin. This went on for most of the match, but after Pain had attempted every move in his arsenal at least once, most of them twice, he had nothing left to offer. Vermin took over for most of the rest of the match. He devastated Pain with everything from Hammer Blows, to Gut-Wrench Suplexes, to Piledrivers. Pain made one last attempt to gain offense. He shot Vermin into the ropes and it appeared as though he was going to pull off a nicely executed Frankensteiner, but Vermin caught him and slammed him to the mat with his 187 Powerbomb. To add insult to injury, Vermin slapped a Camel Clutch onto the semi-conscious Pain for the win.
WINNER: Vermin via Submission at 3:48
MAIN EVENT
Nightmare/Dreamaster
Vs.
Sick + Sexy
TC: Wow! What an exciting night so far. We’re down to the final match and what an event it will be! The reigning champion, Nightmare, and his longtime companion, The Dream Master, go toe-to-toe against Sick and Sexy, Bane and Weehawk of the Sickos on Parade.
MT: Well, Tony, I think you’ll see great style from the team of Nightmare and Dream Master. With the champ’s power and Dream Master’s extensive ring skills, I would say we’re in for a real treat!
BZ: Are you kidding, Tenacious? Those chumps can’t hold out against the onslaught that is about to ensue from Sick and Sexy. Have you been watching these guys? They’re animals! These guys have no morals. "Fight to win", that’s my motto.
TC: Ok, gentlemen. Let’s settle down, the bout is almost underway. Let’s get down to the ring for our feature bout!
(The ring bell tolls three times as David Bluffet, special ring announcer, steps into the ring.)
David Bluffet: This bout is scheduled for one fall with a thirty minute time limit. Making they’re way to the ring area, with a combined weight of 323 lbs., the team of Sick and Sexy…Weehawk and Baaaaaaannnnneee!
(Most of the crowd unleashes boos, as the two members of The Sickos on Parade make their way to the ring while The Death March can be heard over the loud speakers. There are some fans up front, wearing Sickos T-Shirts, cheering relentlessly for their heroes.)
DB: And their opponents….(Your Worst Nightmare takes the place of The Death March over the speakers. The crowd erupt with excitement)…lead to the ring by their manager, Vegitto, at a total combined weight of 455lbs, The Dream Master and Niiiiiigggggghhtttttmmmmaaaarrrreeee!!!
(all four combatants have now entered the ring)
DB: For the thousands in attendance, and the millions watching around the world…are you rrreeeaaddyy??? Let’s get ready to...
(Weehawk and Bane throw David Bluffet from the ring and charge their opponents, taking them by surprise)
MT: It appears Dream Master and Nightmare weren’t ready for that.
TC: I agree Mike, Weehawk has thrown Dream Master to the floor and now both members of Sick and Sexy are double teaming Nightmare!
MT: It seems the ref is already losing control of this one. He isn’t making any attempt to get one of the Sickos to the ring apron.
BZ: Aaawww, let them go at it. I love this stuff!!!
TC: Weehawk has now made his way to the apron, leaving Bane to continue the assault on Nightmare. He lays into Nightmare with an ELBOW SMASH, followed by a series of MACHINE GUN CHOPS. The champ falls to the mat.
MT: Those chops are vicious, Tony! Nobody lays them in better than Bane.
TC: A quick tag to Weehawk, and have more double teaming by the Sickos. Double suplex…Nightmare gets back to his feet. Oh! Double dropkick by the Sick and Sexy. Nightmare hits the mat again.
BZ: Sick and Sexy have a good game plan. They’re keeping the man in their corner, cutting off the ring.
TC: Weehawk rakes the eyes of Nightmare, then takes him down with a knee lift. He quickly tags out to Bane and the two throw Nightmare into the ropes.
BZ: I like they’re style. Quick tags…always keeping a fresh man in the ring.
TC: Sick and Sexy attempting a double clothesline, but Nightmare ducks it! Into the far ropes and he returns with a clothesline for each of the Sickos. Nightmare crawls to his corner and makes the tag to Dream Master. Dream Master is on fire!!! Dropkick to Weehawk…dropkick to Bane. CYCLONE WHIP on Weehawk. A CYCLONE WHIP on Bane. Dream Master clotheslines Weehawk out of the ring and then gives a DRAGON SCREW takedown to Bane.
BZ: The idiot is using up all his energy too fast. It’s gonna backfire on him!
TC: And now Dream Master whips Bane to the ropes and catches him with a SATELITE HEAD SCISSORS! He stomps hard on the back of Bane’s head picks him up SWINGING NECKBREAKER. And the cover 1..2..kickout. Dream Master begins to lift Bane, but gets a cheap shot to the groin for his troubles. Bane takes the opportunity to execute a flurry of BODY PUNCHES followed by a CRUCIFIX KNEE HOLD. The ref checks Dream Master, but before he can ask him for a submission, Dream Master breaks the hold.
MT: But Bane has managed to stop Dream Master’s offense.
TC: Bane tags to Weehawk. Another double suplex! Weehawk picks up Dream Master and performs a THROWING GERMAN SUPLEX. Dream Master whacks the back of his head hard on the canvas. Weehawk takes the opportunity to wrap on a ROMERO CHIN LOCK. Nightmare can’t take any more. He enters the ring and makes the save, but the ref soon backs him up into his corner. Bane enters the ring without a tag as Weehawk quickly makes a retreat. The ref turns to see Bane and asks if he made the tag. Bane shakes his head "yes", but the crowd boos "no." Bane doesn’t waste any time. He grabs Dream Master and performs a MONSTER BACK DROP, then stands over his downed opponent and gyrates his hips.
BZ: I love this guy! He cracks me up!
TC: Nightmare has some words for Bane, but Bane clocks him unsuspectingly in the jaw. Nightmare falls from the apron to the floor. Bane makes a tag to Weehawk, then runs to the far side attempting a SWAN DIVE MISSILE KICK over the top on Nightmare as Nightmare gets to his feet.
MT: Did you see that?!? At the last second, Nightmare evaded the MISSILE KICK, and Bane crashed hard into the steel fence. Now he’s picking Bane up….for Oh my god, not the NIGHTMARE NECK CRUSHER. He just gave it to Bane on the hard cement floor.
TC: Meanwhile, back in the ring Weehawk is legal, and Dream Master is still worse for the wear. Weehawk is looking toward the dressing room area..Oh no! Here come Bo Abobo and Vermin to the ring area. They’re heading for Nightmare who doesn’t see them coming. The ref jumps down from the ring to try and stop the two from interfering in the match. He waves his hands as a warning. Back in the ring, Weehawk is reaching into his tights. What does he have?
BZ: Brass knuckles!!! This guy’s a real charmer!
TC: Weehawk winds up and slams his loaded fist into the back of Dream Master’s skull. I think Dream Master’s out!
MT: And outside the ring, Vermin and Abobo heeds the referee’s warning as
Nightmare executes ANOTHER NIGHTMARE NECK CRUSHER on Bane. The ref returns to the ring to find Weehawk covering Dream Master’s unconscious body. The count 1...2....3!!! Sick and Sexy win it!
WINNERS: Weehawk/Bane via Pinfall at 4:21
TC: As soon as the bell rings, Vermin and Abobo double team Nightmare and throw him in the ring. Weehawk joins them and Nightmare is soon triple teamed. But wait….here come the Vigilantes. It’s three on three mayhem in the ring.
(full camera shot of the action)
TC: I’m afraid we’re out of time!!! Until next week, this is Tony Calvoni, with Mike Tenacious and Barry Zybrozco, saying "See you an the next Inferno!"
(This match actually ended by Weehawk causing a Critical to Dream Master via a DISCUS PUNCH. And besides Nightmare starting the match, he never got a chance to come back into the ring legally. Sick and Sexy pretty much dismantled Dream Master…never allowing the tag.)
