- You will be prompted to listen to 65 different game music samples, ranging in length from 30 seconds to 1:30.
- You will need Flash capability in your browser to take the quiz. The samples will be presented in groups of 10 for lower bandwidth users.
- You can expect to hear music from any game released for any console or the PC from the NES to present day. Nothing older than the NES is used since those games rarely had background music.
- There are songs from popular titles that most anyone will know, and there are songs from obscure titles hardly anyone will know. The only thing they have in common is this: every song chosen for the quiz is one I personally consider a favorite.
- You must correctly guess both the game in which this sample appears and one possible location where the sample can be heard in that game. For example, if one sample is the first stage music for Castlevania, the full correct answer would be 'Castlevania - First Stage'. You will recieve 5 points for getting the game correct and another 5 points for a correct location. If the song can appear in more than one location, any one of them will do.
- If the song has an actual name, providing that will fetch you 2 bonus points. Using the above as an example, if you gave 'Castlevania - First Stage' as your answer, you would get 10 points, but if you give 'Castlevania - Vampire Killer (First Stage)', you would recieve 12.
- The only prize you can win from this is getting your name and link, if you have one, on the Leaderboard, found below. Only the top five all-time scores will show on the leaderboard.
- When you're done with the quiz, e-mail your answers (and, if you think you qualify, your link, comments and display name for the Leaderboard) to
